Chiptuning Audi S5 B9 is pure pleasure. The latest S5 model is a combination of exciting design, utility and performance of a sports car. The serial S5 accelerates to "hundreds" in 4.7s. Sharp styling and many modern details found only on the S models emphasize the aggressive character of the car. The power transmission is responsible for the already iconic Quattro drive based on the Torsen mechanism. In the case of S models, the manufacturer decided to use a sports differential with limited slip, which significantly improves the driving dynamics compared to the normal A5 model. Under the hood, a new, 6-cylinder unit made in TFSI technology with a capacity of 3 liters in a V system was used. This time the turbocharger was chosen, and not as in the case of its predecessor, a mechanical compressor. The unit generates 354KM and 500Nm of torque
Thanks to the aluminum construction, the engine weighs only 172 kg. As is becoming the norm, a twinscroll turbocharger was installed in the center of the V system, between cylinder banks with exhaust branches from both rows of cylinders working separately until they connect in front of the turbine wheel. It is a design that improves the flow of exhaust gases, which results in a sensational response to gas and high torque available from the lowest rpm.
The exhaust manifold has been integrated into the cylinder head, thanks to which the manifold is flushed with coolant, thanks to which the engine heats up faster, and when it is warm, it reduces the temperature of the exhaust gases. The engine also uses the latest incarnation of the Audi Valvelift System (AVS), which disconnects four cylinders under partial load.
3.0TFSI power is transmitted via the modernized, 8-speed tiptronic transmission, whose shift times have been optimized to make them as fast as possible. Unfortunately, the car does not have the LC function, which prevents very dynamic starts. Our task was to modify STAGE 1 together with the Pops & Bangs function.
The ability to safely read and write the MG1 controller in VAG cars is new on the market, but our company has developed safe and proven solutions to ensure stable power and torque increase. After testing diagnostic parameters on a 4 × 4 load test bench, we are able to conclude that the new 3.0tfsi (CWGD) unit is an engine susceptible to modifications.
After several hours of work spent on the dynamometer, our software for the Audi S5 has been optimized for this particular copy. In-depth diagnostics of the propulsion system have shown that all operating parameters are within a safe standard. In the case of such a technically advanced vehicle, only individual tuning is able to ensure trouble-free operation in the long term.
